Images Sizes

The size of a digitalized image is measured in the number of pixels (data points) it contains. An image of 3.872 x 2.592 pixels (width x height) has a total of 10.036.224 pixels, or what is the same, a resolution of about 10 MP (ten Megapixels). All images commercialized by OCEAN PHOTOS are from high quality sources (high resolution scanners or professional digital cameras) and have been edited by experts to offer the highest quality of reproduction in any medium. All our images are available as JPG files with low compression (high quality), RGB 8-bits format.

In the section “Size max.” that exists in the info tab of each image, you can see the pixels size of the original image file commercialized. Notice that there are different image sizes, because of the various resolutions of modern digital cameras, as well as the difference in size of the files generated with these and those obtained from a high-resolution scanner from original slides. The characteristics of an image generated by a camera and a slide scanning are somewhat different, being able to say that, despite the size difference, you get similar quality reproduction and size of enlargement from an image generated by a 10MP digital camera, than from one generated by scanning a 35mm slide.

The images commercialized by OCEAN PHOTOS can be printed directly with top-quality between A4 and DIN A3 size, albeit with a correct interpolation process (increasing the size of a digital image through a specialized program), can be printed at sizes larger than 150cm. If you need to large format printing of one of our images and do not know how to perform a high quality interpolation, please contact us and we can provide you an interpolated version of your image to size.
